Job Title: Assistant Dealer Portfolio Specialist
Our client, an exciting asset management firm with offices in the UK, India and Singapore has a newly created requirement for a Assistant Dealer/ Portfolio Specialist. Our client specialises in ESG, emerging markets and institutional investors.
This role is a member of the dealing team, supporting trade order execution, cash management, post trade allocation and rendering support on investment and operational projects as needed.
This dynamic role would suit someone passionate for sustainability and ESG who excels at working independently, collaborating with key professionals, and leading projects to completion.
Assistant Dealer Responsibilities:
Executing orders for the strategies under management in line with trade allocation and order execution policies.
Reviewing daily trade and FX transactions, ensuring accuracy of account and analysis for transaction cost analysis (TCA).
Performing active monitoring of cash liquidity for all funds/mandates and ensuring funding arrangements are in place.
Establishing and managing counterparty relationship in delivering best execution.
Maintaining and ensuring portfolio data integrity for all systems (OMS and in-house database) towards external reports production.
Performing position and cash reconciliations for all mandates.
Portfolio Specialist Responsibilities:
Conducting investment research on product range, taking into account financial market conditions, competitor analysis, portfolio characteristics, construction and positioning.
Developing and maintaining knowledge necessary to act as a subject matter resource on markets, products, portfolio manager thinking and positioning, benchmarks, and peers.
Performing competitor analysis – collecting and analysing comparative advantages among major peers and determine product value proposition.
Developing and delivering quarterly product updates to inform the firm of investment results and performance within market context.
Collaborating with senior members of the Investment team to perform analytical work supporting the management and oversight of the products (performance, risk, and portfolio analysis, etc.).
Preparing and reviewing product marketing materials (including diaries, presentations) as well as internal/external RFPs to be shared externally with clients and prospects.
Monitoring and building intelligence for own products and strategies covered, including what role products play within different clients’ portfolios.
Creating custom analysis often under the direction of the Head of Client services to anticipate client concerns or responding to client inquiries in a time sensitive environment. Research will provide direct support for marketing, sales, and client service efforts.
Creating, maintaining and preparing portfolio reports on FactSet, Bloomberg, Excel, etc to facilitate servicing of existing Tier 1 clients, if needed.
Growing and maintaining expertise on multiple investment data applications in order to extract investment data and conduct analysis.
Participating, on occasion, in meetings with clients, prospects, and consultants to communicate investment philosophy, strategy, portfolio companies, and performance.
>1-5 years of experience within a globalised institutional set up, having clear exposure to investment team and equity products
Mandarin and English speaking
Strong analytical and detail-oriented aptitude; a high degree of accuracy is required
Experience within Emerging Market and/or Sustainable Investments preferable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to connect the qualitative (e.g. investment philosophy, product objectives) with the quantitative (e.g. portfolio characteristics) aspects of key products range
Strong proficient in MS 365 Office/ Excel/ Word/ PowerPoint and possess good presentation skills
Experience in client servicing function a plus
