CONTRACTS LAWYER

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000

Location: Central London (hybrid working model)


Our client, a fast growing Global FinTech company specialising in Payments, is seeking a Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join their friendly team. This organisation began as a fin tech business focusing on online payments and card payments. It has since grown into the consumer space including the acquisition for apps for consumer use. They are extremely excited about the next stages of their growth as they look to further expand into various consumer focused products.


This role is would suit a lawyer with 2-5 years PQE looking for their next role at Legal Counsel level with extensive experience of managing contracts and contractual operations in a fast-paced environment, preferably in the FinTech/Payments sector.


Our client is open to those who would like to work on a contracted, permanent or contract-to-permanent basis.

The Role:
Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts alongside working closely with the rest of the business on new product developments and acquisition
Be a business enabler by supporting the sales and account management teams in all aspects of customer agreements, from developing internal strategy, NDAs, through to negotiation and closing of full SaaS agreements.
Leading the effort to resolve the majority of client queries and concerns in contract negotiations, including collaboration with internal stakeholders on specific areas of concern.
Assisting with the legal review and response to requests for proposals.
Assisting with maintenance and improvements of contracts management processes and systems as well as the implementation and enforcement of contract policies.
Providing some administrative and other support to General Counsel, including research.

You will be:
A passionate self-starter, someone looking to take on responsibility to flourish.
Extensive experience of managing contracts (specifically including drafting and negotiating licence agreements and related sales side subscription/technology contracts) and contractual operations in a fast-paced environment, preferably in the FinTech/Payments sector.
Have an excellent understanding of the impact of contract terms, compliance obligations and be able to explain contract terms to clients and internal stakeholders.
